Welcome to Sauna Goose. 
A sauna experience influenced by Nordic traditions, featuring authentic wood-fired sauna group sessions. Choose either a guided Saunagus (sauna-goose) Session or go for a standard non-guided Standard Session.
Our pop-up sauna is located in the heart of Northcote, our lush urban yard offers a space for you to experience the combined health benefits of hot and cold therapy. Community is at the heart of what we do, bringing people together through the shared sauna experience.

Think of your classic communal Nordic sauna: wood-fired, silent, and seriously hot. This is a closed-door, no-talking, no-interruptions kind of session. The heat stays in, the distractions stay out. This is not your typical sauna. It’s a sensory ritual from Denmark, led by a guide who continually pours water over hot rocks, filling the space with steamy heat. then fans the air towards you, to create waves of heat. Add aromatherapy, curated music and you’ve got a multi-sensory sauna experience like no other.

what is saunagus?

Saunagus (pronounced sauna-goose) is a well-practiced ritual in modern-day Denmark, rooted in centuries of tradition. This Danish sauna experience is led by a sauna guide who integrates breath work and meditative guidance.
Essential oils are introduced for their therapeutic properties, filling the air with aromatic steam. Gentle, rhythmic towel movements circulate the heat, while curated music sets the tone for deep relaxation and presence.

  • Sauna Goose is located within a lush urban yard with cozy spots to sit and soak up some greenery. You can find us on Gadd St, Northcote:

  • You can cancel your booking for a full refund or reschedule it, as long as you provide at least 12 hours' notice. This gives us time to rebook your spot. To make any changes, simply use the "Change/Cancel Appointment" link in your confirmation email.

  • Please try to arrive at least 10 minutes early to ensure a smooth start for everyone. If you do happen to arrive late after the first round has begun, you’ll need to wait until the second round to join.

  • Swimwear is a must. We also suggest bringing slides or thongs for moving around and a robe or towel poncho for max comfort.

  • Please bring two towels (one to sit on and one to dry off with), a water bottle, and bathers or water-friendly clothing. You may also choose to wear a traditional sauna hat, which helps keep you cool and protects your hair. Hats are available for purchase.

  • A sauna hat helps regulate your body temperature by protecting your head from the intense heat, allowing you to enjoy your sauna session for longer. Plus, it adds a traditional touch to the experience!

  • There is a small change room and a secure area to leave your belongings.

  • We’re committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive space for everyone. To help ensure everyone’s safety, there are some cases where sauna use may not be the best option. For example, we recommend that pregnant individuals, as well as those with heart conditions or other health concerns, avoid using the sauna. Additionally, children under 16 should be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and those under 12 aren’t permitted in the sauna. For more details, please refer to our waiver.
